Wilhelm und Else Heraeus Research Fellowships (be nominated by 31 May 2025)

The Wilhelm and Else Heraeus Foundation awards up to five Research Fellowships each year to support the research of young scientists in the field of physics.
100,000€ are awarded for a duration of 2 years to outstanding early-career-researchers. The funds can be freely used for research activities, but not for one’s own salary. Candidates must be nominated by a dean of a university or the board of directors of a scientific research institution. Self-nominations are not possible.
Nomination requirements
- Researchers must have a doctorate in physics or a related field (obtained max. 6 years ago).
- Researchers must be employed at a university or scientific research institution in Germany for the duration of the fellowship and have career prospects in Germany.
- Researchers may not hold a permanent professorship on 1 October of the year of the nomination.
