The Medical University in Hannover (MHH) is currently advertising a position as VerwertungsmanagerIn (Exploitation Manager) at “TWINCORE – Center for experimental and clinical infection research“.

As the job title might be not very self-explanatory – we included here the job responsibilities for clarification.


As an exploitation manager, you are responsible for coordinating the entire exploitation management at TWINCORE and work closely with our research groups and the external transfer service provider. Your declared goal is to bring the IP assets in the centre’s portfolio into exploitation in a suitable form, e.g. in the context of licensing or spin-offs.

Your tasks:

  • Active scouting for exploitable assets in the Centre’s portfolio
  • Project development and development of an exploitation strategy for the individual assets
  • Coordination and support of property rights procedures (e.g. patent applications)
  • Advice and support with third-party funding applications for application-orientated projects
  • Drafting and negotiating research and commercialisation agreements in collaboration with the external transfer service provider
  • Exchange with the commercialisation management of the partner institutions HZI and MHH
  • Establishing a network of industry partners, VC donors and other partners, e.g. by attending trade fairs and events
