Information for Postdocs and late-stage PhDs

GAUSS Career workshops on Interview Training for industry and academia, respectively (April 2025)

In April the GAUSS Career Service is offering two in person workshops (each 2 days) on the topic Job Interview Training. The workshops are addressing two different fields – academia and non-academia – and are tailored specifically for these target groups. We scheduled both workshops nearly in parallel so that you can book the one which is concerning the content and targert group the most suitable for you and your career path.

The first one “Interview Training for the non-academic job market” by Christelle Linsenmann (3-4 April 2025) is tailored for Postdocs and late-stage PhD students in the process of currently applying for jobs outside of academia.

The second one “Mastering Academic Job Interviews: Securing Postdocs, Grants, and Leadership Roles” by Dr Alexander Britz (14-15 April 2025) is targeting those Postdocs and late-stage PhD students who are currently preparing for the next big step in their academic career, more specifically applying for postdoctoral positions, preparing for selection interviews for competitive grants, or aiming for junior group leadership or professorship roles. Please note – this is not a workshop to provide you information during grant writing etc.

Please check out below further details on both workshops and choose carefully for which one you apply. Based on our experience over the last years, it is particularly crucial for both workshops that the target group is rather coherent than diverse concerning the field you want to continue to work. If you are unsure, please feel free to contact us via career@gauss.uni-goettingen.de.
