26th EMBL PhD symposium (4-6 Dec 2024; abstract deadline: 11 Sep)
The 26th EMBL PhD Symposium – “Biology outside the box” will take place from 4-6 December 2024 at EMBL Heidelberg. You can either join in person or online!
The symposium represents the mission to highlight research and researchers who are pushing the limits of our knowledge of biology. Organized entirely by EMBL predoctoral students of 2024, the symposium introduces a diverse ensemble of researchers presenting their work that redefines what was considered possible in biological research. With this symposium, EMBL students welcome you, fellow upcoming researchers, to a “uniquely student” occasion to celebrate the expansion of knowledge and to connect with other fellows of the scientific community.
The exciting list of speakers includes among others: Lara Urban (Helmholtz Zentrum München, Germany), Marc Güell (Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Spain), Nicholas Taylor (NNF Center for Protein Research, Denmark), Marta Shahbazi (MRC-LMB, University of Cambridge, England), Yen-Ping Hsueh (IMB, Academia Sinica, Taiwan), Aude Bernheim (Institut Pasteur, France), Michelle Percharde (MRC-LMS, Imperial College London, England), Manu Prakash (Stanford University, USA), Christopher E. Mason (Weill Cornell Medicine, USA), Meredith Christine Schuman (University of Zürich, Switzerland), and Nils Christian Stenseth (University of Oslo, Norway).
Students are encouraged to participate in the form of a poster by submitting an abstract.

- on-site attendance (250€ for doctoral students; early bird – register until 10 August 2024; 350€ regular – register until 18 October 2024)
