ownCloud wird zum Jahresende abgeschaltet – jetzt auf Nextcloud migrieren / ownCloud will be shut down at the end of the year – migrate to Nextcloud now
Zum Jahresende werden die ownCloud-Systeme owncloud.gwdg.de und sync.academiccloud.de abgeschaltet. Danach ist ausschließlich der neue Nextcloud-basierte Sync-and-Share-Dienst unter der Adresse files.academiccloud.de nutzbar.
Nutzende von ownCloud müssen daher ihre Daten vor der Abschaltung auf den neuen Dienst migrieren. Eine systemweite automatisierte Migration ist aufgrund der großen Datenmengen nicht möglich und muss daher selbstständig durch die Nutzenden durchgeführt werden. Es wird dringend empfohlen, die ownCloud vor der Migration aufzuräumen und nicht mehr benötigte Dateien zu löschen, um den Migrationsprozess zu beschleunigen und weniger fehleranfällig zu machen.

At the end of the year, the ownCloud systems owncloud.gwdg.de and sync.academiccloud.de will be taken offline. After that, only the new Nextcloud-based Sync and Share service at files.academiccloud.de will be available.
ownCloud users must therefore migrate their data to the new service before the shutdown. Due to the large volumes of data involved, a system-wide automated migration is not possible and must therefore be carried out by users themselves. It is strongly recommended that you clear out your ownCloud account before the migration and delete any files you no longer require, in order to speed up the migration process and make it less prone to errors.
