Exhibition: Christmas with Rembrandt (13 Nov 2025 – 12 Feb 2026)
Until 12 February 2026 the Göttingen Art Publishing House invites you to explore “Christmas with Rembrandt“, a new exhibition featuring prints from the University of Göttingen’s renowned copperplate collection. Landscapes, portraits, and biblical scenes by Rembrandt van Rijn are presented not only in their original graphic form, but also as large-scale contemporary reinterpretations.
These modern adaptations open up new perspectives on Rembrandt’s mastery of light and shadow and place his work in the context of the profound political, religious, and social transformations of the 17th century.
Curated by Martin van Gelderen, Ivan Gaskell, and the late Gert W. Schwab, the exhibition offers an inspiring opportunity to step outside your research routine and engage with art as a lens on historical and societal change.
