„Walheimat“: Bilder der Spenden-Auktion online und im Forum Wissen / „A whale’s home“: pictures of the donation auction online and at Forum Wissen
Über 500 Menschen zwischen 2 und 71 Jahren haben sich am Malwettbewerb „Walheimat“ für das Pottwalskelett im Forum Wissen beteiligt, darunter auch viele Schulklassen. Die Bilder sind nun in einer Online-Galerie und bis zum 14. April 2023 auch im Forum Wissen zu sehen.
Die Techniken der materiellen Bildgestaltung reichen von Aquarellen über Wachsmalstift und Foto-Collage bis hin zu Öl auf Leinwand oder auch Drucktechniken. Viele Wettbewerbsbilder wurden für die Stille Auktion gespendet: Durch weitere Spenden finden diese Bilder nun ein neues Zuhause, ihre eigene „Walheimat“. Alle Erlöse kommen dem Pottwalskelett zu Gute. Gebote für Bilder können Sie vor Ort sowie Online über die Spenden-Seite abgeben.
Das Pottwalskelett ist das Highlight der Zoologischen Sammlung und des künftigen Biodiversitätsmuseums der Universität. Nun ist es nach aufwendiger Restaurierung ins Forum Wissen zurückgekehrt und schwebt für Groß und Klein jederzeit sichtbar im Atrium. Um dies zu ermöglichen, hat der Förderkreis Forum Wissen e.V. unterstützt durch Alumni Göttingen zu Spenden und zur Teilnahme an einem Malwettbewerb aufgerufen. Rund 20.000 Euro werden noch benötigt, um die aufwendigen Arbeiten zu finanzieren.
More than 500 participants between the ages of 2 and 71 took part in the painting competition „A whale’s home“ for the sperm whale skeleton at Forum Wissen, including many school classes. The pictures are now on display in an online gallery and also at Forum Wissen until 14 April 2023.
Material image creation techniques range from watercolor to wax crayon to photo collage to oil on canvas to printmaking techniques. Many competition paintings were donated for the silent auction: Through additional donations, these paintings will now find a new home, their own „whale’s home.“ All proceeds will benefit the sperm whale skeleton. Bids for images can be placed on-site as well as online via the donation page.
The sperm whale skeleton is the highlight of the university’s zoological collection and future biodiversity museum. Now, after extensive restoration, it has returned to Forum Wissen and floats in the atrium, visible to young and old at all times. To make this possible, the Förderkreis Forum Wissen e.V., supported by Alumni Göttingen, has called for donations and participation in a painting competition. Around 20,000 euros are still needed to finance the elaborate work.
