3MT (Three-Minute-Thesis) competition (30.05.2026, registration until 31.03.2026)
Are you a PhD student at the University of Göttingen? Can you present the core message of your doctoral thesis in just three minutes – in English? If so, the Three‑Minute‑Thesis (3MT) Competition is for you!
Format: Each participant delivers a three‑minute presentation in English. A jury composed of members of the Graduate Schools will evaluate the presentations afterwards.
Since 2024 the Graduate Schools, together with Alumni Göttingen e.V., have been organizing their own 3MT sessions as part of the university’s Alumni Day, following the rules and judging criteria established by the University of Queensland, the originator of the 3MT format. Thanks to Alumni Göttingen e.V., prizes will be awarded to the best presentations.
Coaching
We are pleased to offer optional coaching for all participants who will present on 30 May. The coaching program includes:
- Online preparatory sessions
- An on‑site meeting in May 2026
During the coaching you can refine your three‑minute talk, receive feedback on your slide design, and practize your presentation. While participation is optional, it is highly recommended.
