Oktober<\/strong> diesen Jahres die Exkursion <strong>&#8222;Helden, Heilige, Ruinen: Schottlands Mittelalter zwischen Geschichte und Erinnerung\u201c<\/strong> stattfinden. Beim Besuch zentraler historischer Orte Schottlands und wird sich den schottischen Unabh\u00e4ngigkeitskriegen sowie ihrer langen erinnerungsgeschichtlichen Wirkung gewidmet. Im Mittelpunkt steht die Frage, wie mittelalterliche Konflikte um Herrschaft und die Idee schottischer Unabh\u00e4ngigkeit in der Moderne neu gedeutet und national aufgeladen wurden.\u00a0Orte wie\u00a0<strong>Rosslyn Chapel<\/strong>\u00a0und\u00a0<strong>Abbotsford House<\/strong>, aber auch\u00a0<strong>Melrose Abbey<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Stirling Castle<\/strong>\u00a0und\u00a0<strong>Linlithgow Palace<\/strong>\u00a0dienen als Fallbeispiele f\u00fcr den Umgang mit mittelalterlichem Erbe zwischen historischer Evidenz, Mythos und inszenierter Erinnerung. Die Exkursion verbindet historische Analyse mit kultur- und erinnerungsgeschichtlichen Perspektiven und richtet sich an Studierende mit Interesse am Mittelalter, an Nationalgeschichte und an Kulturgeschichte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Studierende sollen sich bis zum <strong>15. M\u00e4rz<\/strong> mit einem kurzen <strong>Motivationsschreiben <\/strong>bei <a href=\"matthias.berlandi@uni-goettingen.de\">matthias.berlandi@uni-goettingen.de<\/a> bewerben. Bevorzugt werden Studierende, die eine Abschlussarbeit schreiben m\u00f6chten, die mit dem Exkursionsthema in Verbindung steht oder die Exkursion f\u00fcr ihren Studienverlaufsplan dringend brauchen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p>Under the direction of Matthias Berlandi, the excursion <strong>\u201cHeroes, Saints, Ruins: Scotland&#8217;s Middle Ages between History and Memory\u201d<\/strong> will take place from <strong>October 12 to 17<\/strong> this year. Visiting key historical sites in Scotland, it will focus on the Scottish Wars of Independence and their long-lasting impact on memory history. The focus will be on how medieval conflicts over power and the idea of Scottish independence were reinterpreted and given national significance in the modern era. Sites such as <strong>Rosslyn Chapel<\/strong> and <strong>Abbotsford House<\/strong>, as well as <strong>Melrose Abbey, Stirling Castle, and Linlithgow Palace<\/strong>, will serve as case studies for dealing with medieval heritage between historical evidence, myth, and staged memory. The excursion combines historical analysis with cultural and memory history perspectives and is aimed at students with an interest in the Middle Ages, national history, and cultural history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students should apply by <strong>March 15<\/strong> with a short <strong>letter of motivation<\/strong> to <a href=\"mailto:matthias.berlandi@uni-goettingen.de\">matthias.berlandi@uni-goettingen.de<\/a>.
