Konferenz: Räume in der Demokratiegeschichte in Paris
Vom 19.-20. Februar veranstaltet die Forschungsgruppe „Die ‚Zeit‘ der Demokratie“ in Kooperation mit der Universität Sorbonne und dem DHI Paris eine internationale Tagung zum Thema „Räume in der Demokratiegeschichte. Eine transnationale Perspektive nach 1848“. Die Konferenz fragt in transnationaler Perspektive nach den räumlichen Kontexten demokratischer Partizipation – in Parlamenten und Regierungsgebäuden, aber auch in Bezug auf Konsumorte, Protestorte und Räume des demokratischen Alltags. Neben den Mitorganisator:innen Marlene Draing, Benjamin Möckel und Anna Spielvogel sind auf der Konferenz auch die Göttinger Dozierenden Philip Knäble und Ezra Rudolph mit Vorträgen vertreten.

From February 19-20, the research group “Die „Zeit“ der Demokratie” is organizing an international conference in cooperation with Sorbonne University and the German Historical Institute in Paris on the topic of “Spaces in the History of Democracy: A Transnational Perspective after 1848.” The conference takes a transnational perspective to examine the spatial contexts of democratic participation—in parliaments and government buildings, but also in relation to places of consumption, places of protest, and spaces of everyday democracy. In addition to co-organizers Marlene Draing, Benjamin Möckel, and Anna Spielvogel, Göttingen lecturers Philip Knäble and Ezra Rudolph will also give presentations at the conference.
