{"id":452,"date":"2024-10-23T11:25:11","date_gmt":"2024-10-23T09:25:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.uni-goettingen.de\/ggg\/?p=452"},"modified":"2024-10-28T12:53:21","modified_gmt":"2024-10-28T11:53:21","slug":"wrap-up-week-of-methods-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.uni-goettingen.de\/ggg\/2024\/10\/23\/wrap-up-week-of-methods-2024\/","title":{"rendered":"Wrap-up Week of Methods 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The 19th Interdisciplinary Methods Week of the GGG took place from September 9<sup>th<\/sup> to 12<sup>th<\/sup>, 2024. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>After a joint organizational kick-off, Dr. Katharina Beier from the Ombuds Office for Good Research Practice gave a detailed overview of ideal standards and regulations of research conduct on the one hand as well as pitfalls and the continuum between questionable research practices and scientific misconduct on the other. The participants then worked for three and a half days in three parallel workshops:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Workshop 1: Methodenverkn\u00fcpfung \u2013 Theorie und Forschungspraxis (<a href=\"https:\/\/fgz-risc.de\/das-forschungsinstitut\/personen\/details\/andrea-hense\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Dr. Andrea Hense<\/a>, G\u00f6ttingen)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Workshop 2: Text als Daten \u2013 computergest\u00fctzte Methoden der Datensammlung und Textanalyse (<a href=\"https:\/\/valentingold.de\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Dr. Valentin Gold<\/a>, G\u00f6ttingen)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Workshop 4: Challenges and Benefits: Mastering Qualitative Interviewing in Social Research (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.uni-goettingen.de\/de\/forschung\/422008.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Dr. Ina Alber-Armenat<\/a>, G\u00f6ttingen)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Due to insufficient demand, Workshop 3 (Understanding Data-Driven Legal Scholarship: A Stata Workshop About Empirical Legal Studies with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jura.uni-hamburg.de\/die-fakultaet\/personenverzeichnis\/sarel-roee.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Jun.-Prof. Dr. Roee Sarel<\/a>, Hamburg) had to be canceled this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With 20 participants, it was the GGG&#8217;s smallest Week of Methods to date. However, the few participants were very committed and had the privilege of a particularly intensive exchange in their workshop groups with plenty of room for individual questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As in previous years, a highlight was the short guided tour of the historical observatory followed by a barbecue. We all enjoyed the exchange and the relaxed atmosphere.
