Launch of a new Research Training Group in October 2025: RTG 2987 “Mobility Rights in the Global Context of Multiple Crises”

In times of crisis like these, more people than ever before are fleeing war or persecution. At the same time, migration itself is increasingly being framed as a social crisis. The research training group brings together researchers from the faculties of philosophy, social sciences, and law. Twelve doctoral candidates are conducting multifaceted dissertation projects to examine how the interplay between migration and crisis is putting pressure on mobility rights worldwide, but also how these rights can be stabilized. This interdisciplinary exchange enables the researchers to examine together how migration movements are regulated by law, and how law itself becomes the subject of social and political debate.
