Online-Kurs Statistical Basics for PhD Students – Part II (06.01. – 10.02.2025, Registration deadline: 14.12.2025)

The GFA is offers free seats in this course to members of all graduate schools at the Göttingen Campus. The aim of the courses is to give PhD students the basic knowledge necessary for statistical data analysis or to refresh it. The focus is on teaching statistical methodology and its application using the software R. The course focuses on the description and application of advanced statistical methods using R software.

The course is held online using the BigBlueButton system. A headset is required for participation. It is designed as a Flipped Classroom: The lecture notes and exercises on the topics of the submodules are provided for self-study. The classes are organized as targeted lectures based on the questions/suggestions of the course participants. The workload amounts to 90 hours including 15 hours of attendance, 55 hours of self-study and homework performance and 20 hours for the final written presentation. If the course requirements of a written presentation of the  own research project and at least 90 % of attendance time are fulfilled three credits are awarded for this course.
