Göttingen’s Research Images of the Year Contest (Deadline 15.12.2025)

The Science Communication Network Göttingen invites all researchers across the Göttingen Campus to take part in the first edition of the “Research Image of the Year” contest!

Whether your image comes from the lab, the field, the microscope, your data visualizations, or your artistic imagination, we want to see how you capture the essence of your research in a single, powerful image. It could illustrate a method, a process, a result, or the broader impact of your work — creativity is highly encouraged!

Who can participate: Researchers from all disciplines and career stages at the Göttingen Campus.

  • Submission deadline: 15 December 2025
  • Evaluation and selection: by the end of February 2025

Why participate?

A single image can make your research speak to a broader audience — sometimes even more effectively than words. This contest is your chance to showcase your research and its beauty, impact, and creativity.

How to participate:

  1. Register via this form: https://survey.academiccloud.de/index.php/351334?lang=en
  2. After registering, you’ll receive a link to upload your image and access detailed guidelines.

We look forward to seeing your research come to life — one image at a time!

Contact us if you have any queries.

Warm regards,

The Science Communication Network Göttingen

About the Science Communication Network Göttingen

The Sci-Comm Network Göttingen brings together researchers from all disciplines who share an interest in communicating science beyond academia.

We meet once a month in an informal setting — usually at a local bar or restaurant — to exchange experiences, explore ideas, plan SciComm activities, and support each other in developing our communication skills.

Whether you’re a beginner or already active in science communication, you’re warmly welcome to join our open and friendly community of like-minded researchers across the Göttingen Campus. This initiative is led by fellow Postdocs on the GC Postdoc Committee. To find out more or sign up, contact Jin (hyojin.kim@uni-goettingen.de).
