{"id":52,"date":"2024-01-30T13:24:48","date_gmt":"2024-01-30T12:24:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.uni-goettingen.de\/gauss\/?p=52"},"modified":"2024-02-28T14:50:43","modified_gmt":"2024-02-28T13:50:43","slug":"2nd-forum-of-the-european-physical-society-25-27-mar-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.uni-goettingen.de\/gauss\/2024\/01\/30\/2nd-forum-of-the-european-physical-society-25-27-mar-2024\/","title":{"rendered":"2nd Forum of the European Physical Society (25-27 Mar 2024)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The registration for the second <strong>European Physical Society (EPS)<\/strong> Forum 2024 is now&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.epsforum.org\/register\/\">open<\/a>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.epsforum.org\">EPS Forum<\/a>&nbsp;will take place in the Henry Ford Building of Freie Universit\u00e4t Berlin (FUB), Germany between <strong>25&nbsp;and 27&nbsp;of March 2024<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Students are invited to register for a reduced rate of 25\u20ac<\/strong>, registration gives access to conferences and round tables on a variety of topics in physics, plus events tailored to students and early career researchers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The EPS will support the travel and lodging expenses of 100 students.&nbsp;<\/strong>Apply via&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.epsforum.org\/accommodation\/\">https:\/\/www.epsforum.org\/accommodation\/<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The programme includes presentations and discussions on the following topics:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Atomic, molecular and optical physics for quantum technologies<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Applications of nuclear and particle physics to society<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Condensed matter and applications to industry<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Energy management, pollution and climate; Artificial intelligence, brain inspired processing systems and applications<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Photonics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Plenary speakers will include&nbsp;<strong>Anne L&#8217;Huillier<\/strong>, laureate of the 2023 Nobel Prize in Physics,&nbsp;<strong>Klaus von Klitzing<\/strong>, laureate of the 1985 Nobel Prize in Physics,&nbsp;<strong>Stefan Hell<\/strong>, laureate of the 2014 Nobel Prize in Chemistry and&nbsp;<strong>Nicola Spaldin<\/strong>, member of the ERC Scientific Council and laureate of the 2017 L&#8217;Or\u00e9al-UNESCO Award for Women in Science.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Submit your poster now!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A poster session will provide a showcase for physics students to present their latest scientific results.
