Three Minute Thesis competition (3MT) on Campus (30 May 2026)
An 80,000 word PhD thesis would take 9 hours to present. Their time limit… 3 minutes.
Doctoral students from various disciplines of the Göttingen Campus will present their doctoral project in a single static slide (PPP) in English in just three minutes.
Since 2024 the Graduate Schools and Alumni Göttingen e.V. are hosting the Three Minute Thesis competition in the course of the universities alumni day according to the rules and judging criteria of the University of Queensland, inventor of the 3MT format (3MT®) .
The competition will be held on 30 May 2026 at the Central Lecture Hall Building (ZHG), Platz der Göttinger Sieben starting at 15:30h.
The competitors will present their research within three minutes with a single static slide (follow the rules). A jury will decide on the ranking of all presentations. The audience will select their favourite 3MT slammer – so bring your colleagues and friends. Thanks to Alumni Göttingen e.V. prizes of in sum 350 € will be awarded (1st prize: 200 €, 2nd prize: 100 €, audience prize: 50 €).
