Then we are looking for your ideas, input, and energy to make the G\u00f6ttingen Campus a better place for Postdocs.\u00a0<\/strong>The deadline\u00a0for applications is 31 October 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a committee member,&nbsp;<strong>you will benefit from:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>directly influencing the events and activities of the Postdoc Network<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>meeting postdocs from across the Campus<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>getting experience in committee work<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>gaining a&nbsp;<strong>better understanding of how large organisations<\/strong>&nbsp;work<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>opportunities to be more involved in the running of the University and Campus, and getting to meet senior staff<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>acquiring transferable skills<\/strong>&nbsp;which are sought by many employers and can go on your CV<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong>main commitment<\/strong>&nbsp;is contributing ideas at our friendly meeting once a month. Meetings are in English, last approximately one hour, and are usually conducted via zoom. There is also attendance when possible at&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/goettingen-campus.de\/postdoc-event\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">events<\/a>&nbsp;(e.g., Postdoc Socials or Postdoc Support and Information Fairs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The GC Postdoc Committee\u2019s mission:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>strives to ensure that the GC Postdoc community is valued, understood and that its voice is heard;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>supports, serves, and enhances the experience of the GC Postdoc community by providing an inclusive and overarching network across the&nbsp;<strong>GC and beyond<\/strong>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>champions equality, diversity, and interdisciplinarity at every opportunity<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Represent the needs and views of early career researchers to the University and its administration<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You can see more about what we do&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/goettingen-campus.de\/postdoc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>, and the terms of reference are&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/goettingen-campus.de\/fileadmin\/Postdocs\/Terms_of_reference_2022.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>We welcome all applications&nbsp;<\/strong>and are keen to&nbsp;<strong>increase the diversity<\/strong>&nbsp;(including geographical location across the Campus, variety of disciplines, backgrounds and origins) to enhance the representativeness of the committee. We aim for balanced representation of Postdocs in the committee and all genders are welcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The committee particularly encourages&nbsp;<strong>postdocs from any area or viewpoint that you (the GC Postdoc Network) consider is currently under-represented<\/strong>. From our perspective, Postdocs from any of the following areas would help balance our representation: Postdocs on <strong>visiting research fellowships<\/strong> (eg Humboldt or EMBO), <strong>Humanities, Social Sciences,Business and Economics, Maths, Biology\/Psychology<\/strong>, <strong>Chemistry, MPIs\/Research Centres<\/strong> across&nbsp;<strong>GC<\/strong>. Note that there are opportunities for Postdocs who would like to have involvement with the&nbsp;university central administration (Senat\/Vice President\/senior management). Is your&nbsp; voice represented? If not, then why not apply?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The application process<\/strong>&nbsp;is quick and easy: simply send a short CV and an email briefly explaining why you would like to join the Committee to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/goettingen-campus.de\/postdoc-committee\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Melissa Sollich<\/a>, the Postdoc Coordinator. This will be considered by the committee to ensure a good fit. Contact any of the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/goettingen-campus.de\/postdoc-committee\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">current committee members<\/a>&nbsp;for a chat or meet us at the upcoming social events to find out more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We use the term \u2018Postdoc\u2019 in the broad sense of \u2018early career researcher\u2019 \u2013 a doctorate holder who conducts professional research with a time-limited contract or fellowship.
