Klaus Tschira Sandpit Workshops in Heidelberg (apply by 20 Apr 2026)
The Klaus Tschira Foundation once again offers Sandpit Workshops promoting education and science communication in the fields of mathematics, computer science, and natural sciences.
The sandpit workshops are for anyone working in research, education, or science communication who wants to engage in interdisciplinary exchange and develop innovative projects together. Participants can apply for a one- to two-day sandpit workshop with topics of their choice from the fields of mathematics, computer science, or natural sciences to develop visionary ideas and refine them in a moderated reflection process—in the spirit of a creative, open-ended space for thinking. They can expect an inspiring environment on the outskirts of Heidelberg and professional support from an external moderator.
- Funding: Moderation, accommodation, meals, and travel expenses, as well as provision of the Villa Bosch studio in Heidelberg
- Funding period: September 2026 to April 2027
- Application period: 9 March 9 to 20 April 2026 (submission via new application portal)
