Im März hat die 16. Runde des Dorothea Schlözer Mentoring-Programms begonnen. Das englischsprachige Qualifizierungsprogramm richtet sich an Doktorandinnen und Postdoktorandinnen am Göttingen Campus, die eine wissenschaftliche Karriere anstreben.
Seit 16 Jahren erfahren Nachwuchswissenschaftlerinnen auf diese Weise strukturierte Karriereberatung und -begleitung auf ihrem Weg in Führungspositionen in der Wissenschaft. Zeitgleich erhielten die Teilnehmerinnen der letztjährigen Runde ihre Mentoring-Zertifikate.
Die Vizepräsidentin für Chancengleichheit, Diversität und Internationales, Prof. Dr. Inge Hanewinkel, begrüßte die Gäste bei der diesjährigen Veranstaltung. Sie betonte die Erfolgsgeschichte des Dorothea Schlözer-Programms an der Universität. Den Festvortrag hielt eine ehemalige Mentee, Prof. Dr. Anna Minasyan, über die Kraft von Mentoring zur Unterstützung bei Entscheidungen und der Gestaltung des eigenen Karriereweges.
An der aktuellen Programmrunde nehmen 13 Nachwuchswissenschaftlerinnen teil. Das einjährige Programm basiert auf drei Säulen: Mentoring, Training und Networking. Im Rahmen des Mentoring-Formats werden die Teilnehmerinnen individuell von erfahrenen Wissenschaftler*innen begleitet. Ergänzend dazu umfasst das Programm ein Qualifizierungsangebot zu karriererelevanten Themen sowie verschiedene Netzwerkformate, die den Austausch innerhalb des Göttingen Campus fördern.
Das Dorothea Schlözer Mentoring-Programm ist nach Dorothea Schlözer benannt, die 1787 als erste Frau in Deutschland an der Universität Göttingen den Doktor der Philosophie erhielt. Seit seiner Einführung im Jahr 2010 unterstützt das Programm gezielt Wissenschaftlerinnen in frühen Karrierephasen und ist Teil der Gleichstellungs- und Nachwuchsförderungsmaßnahmen der Universität Göttingen. Am 16. und 17. April 2026 findet in den Räumen der Forschungsabteilung eine englischsprachige Weiterbildung statt, die sich speziell an die Zielgruppe der PostDocs, Promovierten und Promovierenden kurz vor ihrem Abschluss richtet. In „Crafting Successful Funding Proposals – A Guide for Humanities and Social Science Researchers“ erfahren Teilnehmende, wie sie Förderanträge erfolgreich strukturieren und visualisieren, auch mit KI-Unterstützung.
Beschäftigte, für die das Thema Dienstreise interessant ist, haben am 23. April 2026 Gelegenheit, innerhalb des zweistündigen Onlineformats „Dienstreise geplant? – Wertvolles und Nützliches“ den Dienstreise-Antrag sowie Abrechnungs-Workflow kennenzulernen und Fragen zu stellen.
Wer sich zum kleinen Einmaleins des bekannten Tabellenkalkulationsprogramms Excel aufschlauen möchte sollte die dreitägige Grundlagenschulung nicht verpassen. Vorgestellt werden unter anderem die Summe- sowie Mittelwert-Funktion, die Nutzung von bedingten Formatierungen und die Filterung von Daten. Der Kurs findet vom 21. bis 23. April 2026 als Webinar statt.

The 16th cohort of the Dorothea Schlözer Mentoring Programme began in March. This English-language professional development programme is designed for female doctoral and postdoctoral researchers at the Göttingen Campus who are pursuing an academic career. For 16 years, early-career female researchers have benefited from structured career counseling and support on their path to leadership positions in academia. At the same time, participants from last year’s cohort received their mentoring certificates.
The Vice President for Equal Opportunities, Diversity and International Affairs, Professor Inge Hanewinkel, welcomed the guests to this year’s event. She highlighted the success story of the Dorothea Schlözer Programme at the University. The keynote address was delivered by a former mentee, Professor Anna Minasyan, on the power of mentoring in supporting decision-making and shaping one’s own career path.
Thirteen early-career female researchers are participating in the current programme cycle. The one-year programme is based on three pillars: mentoring, training, and networking. As part of the mentoring format, participants receive individual support from experienced researchers. In addition, the programme offers training on career-related topics as well as various networking opportunities that promote exchange within the Göttingen Campus.
The Dorothea Schlözer Mentoring Programme is named after Dorothea Schlözer, who in 1787 became the first woman in Germany to receive a Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of Göttingen. Since its launch in 2010, the programme has provided targeted support to female researchers in the early stages of their careers and is part of the University of Göttingen’s initiatives to promote gender equality and support early-career researchers. On 16 and 17 April 2026, a professional development workshop will take place in the Research Department’s offices, specifically targeting postdocs, PhD graduates, and PhD candidates nearing completion of their degrees. In “Crafting Successful Funding Proposals – A Guide for Humanities and Social Science Researchers,” participants will learn how to successfully structure and visualize grant proposals, including with AI support (workshop language is English).
Employees interested in the topic of business travel will have the opportunity on 23 April 2026 to learn about the business travel application and reimbursement workflow and ask questions during the two-hour online session “Planning a Business Trip? – Valuable and Useful Information” (in German).
Anyone looking to brush up on the basics of the popular spreadsheet program Excel shouldn’t miss the three-day introductory training course (in German). Topics covered include the SUM and AVERAGE functions, the use of conditional formatting, and data filtering. The course will take place as a webinar from 21 to 23 April 2026.
