Alle Jahre wieder … / „Same procedure as last year …“
… zumindest seit 2017 wird der Wilhelmsplatz durch einen Weihnachtsbaum geschmückt. In diesem Jahr berichtet auch der NDR in der Nordreportage: O Tannenbaum – Endspurt auf der Weihnachtsbaumplantage über diesen Baum und seinen „Partner“ auf dem Göttinger Weihnachtsmarkt, die beide aus der nahe gelegenen Tannenbaumplantage in Bösinghausen kommen.
Und wie in den vergangenen Jahren besuchte auch die Abteilung Räumliche Strukturen und Digitalisierung von Wäldern um Prof. Dr. Dominik Seidel wieder den Wilhelmsplatz und erfasste den Weihnachtsbaum dreidimensional auf der Basis von 2.089.378 Laservermessungspunkten.
Dieses Jahr hat der Uni-Weihnachtsbaum eine Gesamthöhe von 10,43 Metern. Damit ist er nur unwesentlich kleiner als im vergangenen Jahr (10,90 Meter). Mit einer box-dimension von 2,1 ist der Baum dieses Jahr trotz der etwas geringeren Höhe sogar ein klein wenig komplexer als im vergangenen Jahr, was vor allem an seiner sehr schönen runden Form liegt.
Die Bäume der Vorjahre sind im Internet nicht abgebaut, sondern unter 2024 und 2023 zu finden.
… at least since 2017, the Wilhelmsplatz has been decorated with a Christmas tree. This year, the NDR is also reporting on this tree and its „partner tree“ at the Göttingen Christmas market in the Nordreportage programme „O Tannenbaum – Endspurt auf der Weihnachtsbaumplantage“ (in German). Both trees come from the nearby Christmas tree plantation in Bösinghausen.
And as in previous years, Professor Dominik Seidel’s Spatial Structures and Digitisation of Forests department visited Wilhelmsplatz and surveyed the Christmas tree three-dimensionally on the basis of 2,089,378 laser survey points.
This year, the university Christmas tree has a total height of 10.43 metres and is therefore only slightly smaller than last year (10.90 metres). With a box dimension of 2.1, this year’s tree is even a little more complex than last year’s despite its slightly lower height, which is mainly due to its beautiful round shape.
The trees from previous years have not been dismantled on the Internet and can still be found at 2024 and 2023.
