Bombenentschärfung am 12. Oktober 2024: Evakuierungsradius veröffentlicht, Zentralcampus bleibt geschlossen / Suspected bomb disposal on 12 October 2024: evacuation radius published, central campus remains closed
Wie die Stadt Göttingen bereits veröffentlicht hat, wird es am Sonnabend, 12. Oktober 2024, erneut zur Sondierung und Bergung von mehreren Kampfmittelverdachtspunkten im Umfeld des Schützenplatzes kommen. Hierbei ist eine Evakuierung in einem Radius von 1000 Metern um die Fundstellen herum notwendig, die den kompletten Zentralcampusbereich einschließt.
Somit bleiben an dem Tag alle universitären Gebäude und Grundstücke im Bereich des Zentralcampus sowie das Auditorium und die Mensa gesperrt und dürfen nicht betreten werden, bis die zuständigen Behörden Entwarnung geben. Wir möchten Sie bitten, dies bei der Planung und Durchführung von Lehr-, Prüfungs- oder Sonderveranstaltungen zu berücksichtigen.
Auch das Forum Wissen und der Alte Botanische Garten liegen innerhalb des Evakuierungsradius und sind am Sonnabend, 12. Oktober 2024, geschlossen. Zusätzlich bleibt der Alte Botanische Garten aufgrund von Sicherheitsmaßnahmen auch am Sonntag, 13. Oktober 2024, geschlossen.
Andere Bereiche der Universität sind nach aktueller Informationenlage nicht betroffen. Zusätzlich zum Evakuierungsgebiet wurde eine erweiterte Schutzzone für einen Teil des Innenstadtbereichs und der Groner Landstraße festgelegt. Innerhalb dieser erweiterten Schutzzone sollen alle Anwohner*innen zum Zeitpunkt einer möglichen Sprengung Luftschutzmaßnahmen vornehmen, sich dann also zur eigenen Sicherheit nicht im Freien oder in Fensternähe aufhalten. Auf eine Erweiterung des Evakuierungsradius im Fall einer notwendigen Sprengung verzichtet die Stadt bei dieser Maßnahme.

As already announced by the City of Göttingen, on Saturday, 12 October 2024, suspected bombs from WWII in the vicinity of Schützenplatz will be investigated and made safe. This will require an evacuation within a radius of 1,000 metres around the sites. This means that it will be necessary to evacuate the area around the Central Campus.
All University buildings and properties in the Central Campus area and the Auditorium as well as the canteen will remain closed on that day and may not be entered until the all-clear has been given by the authorities. We would like to ask you to take this into account when planning and holding teaching, examination or special events.
The Forum Wissen and the Old Botanical Garden are also within the evacuation radius and will be closed on Saturday, 12 October 2024. In addition, the Old Botanical Garden will also be closed on Sunday, 13 October 2024 due to safety measures.
According to current information, other areas of the University are not affected. In addition to the evacuation area, an extended protection zone has been established for part of the city centre and Groner Landstraße. Within this extended protection zone, all residents should take air protection measures at the time of a possible blast, i.e. not stay outside or near windows for their own safety. The city has decided not to extend the evacuation radius in the event of a necessary explosion.
