Zum Diversity Tag 2024: „‚Ich habe was, was Du nicht siehst‘ – nicht-sichtbare Beeinträchtigungen und Diskriminierung“ – Vortrag und Informationsstände am 9. September 2024 / Diversity Day 2024: „‚I have something you can’t see‘ – invisible impairments and discrimination“ – lecture and information stands on 9 September 2024 (in German)
Anlässlich des 12. bundesweiten Diversity-Tages 2024 organisieren Universität, Stadt und Landkreis Göttingen gemeinsam eine Veranstaltungsreihe zu nicht-sichtbaren Beeinträchtigungen und Diskriminierung in der Arbeitswelt. Auftakt ist am Montag, 9. September 2024, von 9 bis 13 Uhr im Tagungs- und Veranstaltungshaus Alte Mensa. Alle Mitarbeiter*innen von Universität, Stadt und Landkreis, Studierende und die interessierte Öffentlichkeit sind herzlich eingeladen.
In ihrem Einführungsvortrag stellt Prof. Dr. Mathilde Niehaus (Universität zu Köln) mit „Sag ich’s?!“ einen Selbsttest vor, der Beschäftigten mit gesundheitlichen Beeinträchtigungen dabei hilft zu erkennen, was dafür und was dagegen spricht, die eigene Beeinträchtigung am Arbeitsplatz offen zu legen. Im Anschluss an den Vortrag stellen sich Beratungs- und Anlaufstellen aus Universität, Stadt und Landkreis vor und laden dazu ein, sich an Informationsständen auszutauschen.
Die gesamte Veranstaltungsreihe nimmt in den Blick, wie insbesondere nicht-sichtbare Beeinträchtigungen dazu führen, dass Beschäftigte in der Arbeitswelt Einschränkungen im Umgang mit Kolleg*innen erleben, sich mit Vorurteilen auseinandersetzen müssen oder auch von Diskriminierung betroffen sind. Für Außenstehende sind die Beeinträchtigungen und Auswirkungen im Arbeitskontext nicht oder nicht sofort erkennbar: Innerhalb von Arbeitsteams einen für alle guten Umgang zu finden, ist daher eine große Herausforderung.
Nach der Auftaktveranstaltung folgen ab Oktober Workshops zu nicht-sichtbaren gesundheitlichen Beeinträchtigungen, zu Neurodiversität sowie ein Empowermentworkshop unter anderem mit Jacob Hess, Jessica Stazzone Manazza und Maren Frank. Die Workshops richten sich an Beschäftigte von Universität, Stadt und Landkreis Göttingen.

On the occasion of the 12th nationwide Diversity Day 2024, the University, City and District of Göttingen are jointly organising a series of events on invisible impairments and discrimination in the world of work. In her introductory lecture, Professor Mathilde Niehaus (University of Cologne) will present „Sag ich’s?!“, a self-test that helps employees with health impairments to recognise what speaks for and against disclosing their own impairment in the workplace.
Following the presentation, counselling and contact points from the university, city and district will introduce themselves and invite people to exchange ideas at information stands. All employees of the University, city and district of Göttingen, students and the interested public are cordially invited to attend the lecture and visit the information stands. The event will take place on Monday, 9 September 2024, from 9:00 to13:00 in the Alte Mensa conference and event centre.
The entire series of events will focus on how non-visible impairments in particular lead to employees in the world of work experiencing restrictions in their dealings with colleagues, having to deal with prejudice or being affected by discrimination. For outsiders, the impairments and effects in the work context are not or not immediately recognisable: finding a good approach for everyone within work teams is therefore a major challenge.
The kick-off event will be followed in October by workshops on non-visible health impairments, neurodiversity and an empowerment workshop with Jacob Hess, Jessica Stazzone Manazza and Maren Frank, among others. The workshops are aimed at employees of the University, city and district of Göttingen.
