  • OptoGenTech
The subject of the company OptoGenTech GmbH is the development, production, and marketing of optogenetic multi-channel stimulators for biomedical research and clinical applications, as well as behavioral biological apparatus for biomedical research.
  • Herzzentrum
14 clinics and institutes, as well as the Nursing Service unit of the University Medical Center Göttingen, work closely together in the field of cardiovascular systems and the lungs. The clinics and institutes have been combined into an interdisciplinary center to ensure optimal and efficient patient care, research, and teaching. The primary goal of the Heart Center is to provide high-quality medicine that is patient-oriented, open, and transparent.
  • Histomography
Tim Salditt, Professor at the University of Göttingen, has developed a technology over the past 15 years at the Institute for X-ray Physics to examine tissue samples in three dimensions.
  • Repairon
Repairon’s mission is the development, the manufacturing and the commercialization of induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) based tissues for organ repair. Our lead product are contractile heart tissue patches – Engineered Human Myocardium (EHM) – for the treatment of patients with advanced heart failure.
  • Myriamed
Separating the pharmacological wheat from the chaff is the primary goal of myriamed. Our proprietary human cell and engineered tissue models allow for the simulation of health and disease in the dish. Our platform technologies find broad applications in early stages of drug discovery and refinement of the most promising therapeutic candidates.

  • Nanotag Biotechnologies

Nanotag produces thoroughly validated high-quality tools for life sciences, biotechnology, biomedical research, and therapy. It is best known for in-house developed and validated state-of-the-art single-domain antibodies (sdAbs).

Founded in 1870 as a spin-off of the university, Sartorius AG is one of the 15 largest companies in Lower Saxony and one of the largest pharmaceutical and laboratory suppliers in Germany.

Heart and Brain: Understanding Together was the title of a public exhibition in the Forum Wissen and a public lecture series. The exhibition presented state-of-the-art microscopy techniques that allow researchers to “look inside” cells and tissue and visitors were invited on a journey through the visual worlds of modern microscopy. The lectures from the lecture series of the University of Göttingen and the Lower Saxony Academy of Sciences in Göttingen in the winter semester 2023/2024 are available online.
